This little curator's blog is called AppaNEWS - I'm going to keep you updated on what's happening at the Appanoose County Historical & Coal Mining Museum from time to time. Right now, this website is what's happening! I have some new information that I want to share with the world, and I was having a hard time figuring out how to get it onto our old website. It was time for a change and I'm truly enjoying putting this new website together. I was hoping to have an operating online store, but that costs more money than I think we would make at it, so for now we'll settle for orders via phone or mail. We do take credit card payments, so just give us a call!
Now, back to the new information that I was talking about in the previous paragraph - we have links to the Centerville High School yearbooks that have been digitized. Most were digitized by the Centerville School system and others were digitized by the historical society. Coming soon are the yearbooks from other communities in Appanoose County!
2018 will be the year that the museum will become handicapped accessible! We have held several successful fundraising events and a Morgan Cline Foundation grant that will allow us to build a handicapped ramp on the west side of the museum and renovate the dock area to be a hospitable entrance. Watch the progress as you drive by! - Curator Lisa Eddy
